After Stephen Lee left, the same night I had a dream-
a very vivid dream. In the reign of Yuen Ty in the
dynasty of Tsin,in the 3rd century A.D,lived an old
woman who had a magical cup.
Every morning at daybreak-- Ming Mai,sat in a corner
of the marketplace, with her cup of tea. From dawn to
dusk people thronged to her to buy and drink the tea
from her cup. All left satisfied,as the tea fulfilled
all their hopes, dreams and desires. The cup never exhausted.
The money Ming Mai received--she distributed to the poor
and needy. The queues kept increasing as did her popularity.
Yuen Ty the emperor, became envious of her fame and goodwill.
When his militia failed to procure the cup from her,he threw
her into the darkest dungeons. Late at night, as the moonbeams
filtered through from an opening in the high ceiling,Ming Mai,
flew out of this aperture, across Tibet.
For over 1500 years
she scoured the Himalayas, till finally in 1859 she found her
ideal resting place in Darjeeling, this was how Makaibari came
to be the first tea garden in Darjeeling.
To date her cup continues to sweeten all who imbibe makaibari
tea--for one not only drinks a high quality Darjeeling--but also
the spirit of Mai Ming as the spirit of Makaibari.
The five petals of the logo represent the five continents,
the central circle the heart of Makaibari and the ring ensures
that all are benefitted equally when the Makaibari spirit is imbibed.
May the Makaibari fulfill all your hopes, dreams and desires.
